Discover Singapore Nature through the Rainforest Trail

Nature enthusiasts can rejoice at the sheer number of parks and reserves in Singapore. The Rainforest Trail suggested guide brings you a list of places not to miss as you journey through the rainforest to experience green and grassy Singapore.

The magnificent Southern Ridges alone is enough for many hours of adventure. This 9 km trail connects three parks through eight trails, along the southern ridge of Singapore. Hort Park, a gardening lifestyle hub, and Mount Faber, one of Singapore’s oldest parks perched atop a hill, are also nestled within the Southern Ridges.

If you prefer the beach, East Coast Park, Singapore’s largest park, and Sentosa, a popular island resort, are also great places to enjoy the sun, sand and sea.

Pulau Ubin is another popular choice as you explore what Singapore has to offer. An island off the mainland of Singapore, visitors take a ferry to visit, where they’ll return to the olden days and experience a time when life was simple and uncomplicated. Spend an afternoon cycling around the old village before you head back into the mainland for a feast with friends and family.

Of course, a rainforest trail can’t be so-named if there are no animals to speak off. Nature and wildlife seekers will be thrilled by the array of flora and fauna they’ll find at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the Labrador Nature Reserve.

When the sun sets, head down to the Night Safari, the world’s first nocturnal zoo. There, you’ll be wowed by the cultural performances such as tribal dances and fire eaters, as well as the creatures of the night. Watch the spectacular ‘Creatures of the Night’ show and tour the zoo by foot or via the tram, which brings you around the main animal habitats in about 45 minutes.

Singapore contains a never-ending journey of lush nature. From parks and gardens to nature and wildlife discovery, experience a green Singapore journey as you prepare for a Rainforest Trail unlike any other.
